About Nanette Walker

​Nanette is a self taught artist that found her passion for art while living in BC on the Sunshine Coast.

 

Starting at a young age with a simple HB pencil and paper her interest in art grew over the years to include charcoal, pastel, acrylics, oils and crafting. Charcoal was her main medium for a few years while her family was young and then she put art aside until 2013. Art was calling her and she pulled out her supplies and thought about switching up from Charcoal to colour and found Chalk Pastel. For the last 4 plus years she has immersed her self in her craft and has added in Gold Leafing and mixed media.

 

Nanette was a closet artist for the first 2 years and then a friend encouraged her to show her work.  She sold her 1st piece and received praise for her work.  This is when she decided to hone in on her skills and share her talents online.  Having worked in a custom framing and art store it was easy to transition into the art world and share with other local artist on the Sunshine Coast.   Customers asked if she did workshops over and over, so she started them up and with a huge response she decided to dive into her passion and make it her main career.
